Ultrasonic technology has been widely used in metal and plastic welding processes. Ultrasonic welding mould (Horn), because of its high performance requirements for structural dynamics, the traditional imitation and repair design method can not meet the ever-changing requirements of plastic products. Starting from the principle of ultrasonic welding, the finite element method is used to analyze the natural frequency and modality, and a new type of tooling is designed to meet the functional requirements for effective transmission and even distribution of vibration energy. In the design process, we combine the parametric modeling, DOE and PDS modules of ANSYS for parameter design and robust design, and adjust the geometric dimensions, that make the natural frequency and ultrasonic frequency of the tooling to match the ultrasonic frequency. The amplitude of the corresponding mode is uniform at the working surface, which reduces the problem of stress concentration in the local structure. At the same time, it has good adaptability to changes in the material and the parameters of the environment. The designed tooling is completed and put into use at one time, avoiding the waste of time and cost caused by repeatedly trimming the ultrasonic tooling.
